Application of industrial endoscope in vehicle maintenance inspection

The biggest difference between industrial endoscopy inspection and other non-destructive inspection methods is that it can directly reflect the internal and external surfaces of the inspected object, without the need to judge the existence of defects through data comparison or the skills and experience of inspectors. And at the same time of inspection, we can use industrial endoscope equipment to dynamically record or photograph the entire inspection process, and can conduct quantitative analysis on the defects found, and measure the length and area of defects.

In general, industrial endoscopic inspection is widely used in the railway industry, involving different fields such as the development and manufacture of railway engineering vehicles and transport vehicles, maintenance and repair, and even in the infrastructure process of railways, such as bridges and tunnels. The application of industrial videoscopes can also be found in construction and maintenance. Then in the maintenance work of railway vehicles, the main applications of endoscopes include gearboxes, hollow horizontal axles, electric motors, bogie side frames, bolsters and shock absorbing springs, air conditioning and ventilation system inspections, etc.

Gearbox inspection

With the use and operation of the locomotive, it is inevitable that the traction gearbox will have problems such as gear wear and bad bite, and the serious situation will even cause the gearbox to be scrapped and derailed. Use the industrial endoscope detection method, use its bendable and guided insertion tube, enter the inside of the gearbox through the oil observation port of the gearbox, and check the gear condition and whether there are foreign objects at the bottom of the gearbox. This inspection method can show the internal situation of the gearbox very intuitively, and through the image recording function of the industrial endoscope, we can take pictures of the inspected situation and make remote diagnosis possible.

Traction Motor Inspection

The traction motor of the locomotive is usually installed at the bottom of the locomotive. Not only does it start and stop frequently, but it also vibrates greatly during operation and has a small installation space. It also has to withstand the invasion of wind, sand, rain, snow and dust. Generally speaking, the faults of motors mainly include motor ring fire (caused by motor oil intake or broken brushes), insulation damage, bearing wear, breakage between winding groups or lead-out wires, and brush holder connections. During section repair, we need to completely disassemble and disassemble the motor to complete the inspection, but after using the industrial endoscope, we can insert the industrial endoscope through the maintenance window or cooling hole for inspection to observe the oil stains, carbon deposits inside the motor, Condition of bearings and leads.

Hollow Shaft Inspection

With the promotion and application of electrified high-speed trains, the application of the hollow shaft of the wheel set has also become very extensive. The detection of the hollow shaft is generally carried out with ultrasonic flaw detection equipment for the entire shaft flaw detection, and suspicious parts such as corrosion, rust, and wear are found. When using an industrial endoscope to probe into the interior of the hollow shaft, carefully inspect the suspicious parts of the damage. Due to the observation magnification effect of the industrial endoscope, the staff can even use the random application soft machine of the industrial endoscope equipment to inspect the site at the inspection site. After completing the picture recording and video recording, re-inspect the defect through the computer in the studio, establish a backup of the inspection file, and measure the defect again, so that the inspection work is more accurate, and the follow-up re-inspection comparison becomes a reality.

Internal combustion engine carbon deposit detection

For diesel engines of internal combustion locomotives, if there is carbon deposit on the exhaust valve, the effective power of the internal combustion engine will be reduced and fuel consumption will be reduced. Now the industrial video endoscope can be inserted into the cylinder through the spark plug to check the engine internals.
